|Value: £1m||Location: Custom House Hotel, London’s Docklands|
This project is the full refurbishment of a 302 room hotel based in London’s Docklands. This property formed part of the ibis rebrand programme and the 285 bedrooms were refurbished in phases of 25 – 60 rooms at a time over 2 – 3 week periods.
The public areas were also refurbished and included the breakfast room, café lounge, grill restaurant, pub and reception area.
All works had to be carried out during normal guest occupancy with careful scheduling and planning to ensure minimum disruption to the hotel’s operational service.
The particular challenge was to successfully complete the reception refurbishment which had to be carried out in three phases whilst in constant use, with no interruptions to guest and hotel operation.
